How It All Started
The Solstice Story
Solstice Marketing began in 2023 as a shared vision between friends. Lorraine and her longtime colleague, Heather, noticed that many small businesses and nonprofits in Spokane lacked access to high-quality design and marketing services, severely limiting their impact on the community. Determined to help, they soft-launched Solstice Marketing in 2024 by volunteering their services to Spokane Pride, assisting with event marketing for the parade and festival.
When Heather stepped away from Solstice Marketing to focus on her family and health, Lorraine carried their dream forward, officially launching Solstice Marketing LLC on January 1, 2025. Today, Solstice Marketing is a small but mighty creative agency dedicated to helping small businesses and nonprofits build strong brands, connect with their audiences, and grow with confidence.

About Lorraine Sumner
I grew up in Spokane and have called the Inland Empire home for over three decades. The Pacific Northwest is a unique gem, and I love using my passion to support small businesses and nonprofits in my community.
Since earning my degree from Spokane Falls Community College in 2016, I’ve worked in B2B advertising, corporate marketing, and retail, gradually expanding my expertise from design to strategic marketing. In 2020, I deepened my focus on branding, digital marketing, and content strategy to offer a well-rounded approach to business growth.
To complement nearly a decade of hands-on experience, I’m pursuing a BA in Business Administration and Marketing at Western Governors University, where I’ve earned a marketing certificate and leadership award. This blend of education and experience allows me to create marketing solutions that are both visually compelling and results-driven.
